Companions of CPAS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the animals of Caddo Parish Animal Services in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Become a Foster
When you foster a dog for Companions all veterinary expenses, food, heartworm and flea prevention, and any other supplies are provided. All you have to do is provide a safe and loving environment while your foster dog is being vetted and waiting for transport. Most of our dogs come from shelters and need the help of their foster parent to adjust to being in a home environment.
Wishlist Donations
Wishlists allow you to choose the exact item you want to donate.
Donation Note: If you are donating to a certain animal, please include their animal ID # in the note section of PayPal or Venmo. If the animal is pulled by a rescue, the funds will be sent to that rescue. If a rescue doesn’t pull, or if the animal is adopted, the funds will go into the medical fund to help other injured or ill animals at the shelter.

Rescuing Pets
We help save animals from within our local shelter, who might otherwise be euthanized.
Foster Network
Our foster network is the lifeline for animals that need a temporary home. If you are able to provide a good home, please consider becoming a foster.
Finding Pets a Home
We work with transports, rescue organizations, and more to provide adoption and animal welfare events, raise awareness, and help animals find good homes.
Medical Support
We help spay, neuter, cover medication, and support animals that need medical care to be able to transport or rescue. Please consider donation to our medical fund.
